CAIRO - 5 September 2018: The Education Ministry denied news purported by some websites that tablets will not be distributed at schools in the first term, the ministry's spokesman said.

Education Minister's Deputy Mohamed Omar said the issue was raised at today's cabinet meeting and the tablets will be distributed during the first term, Spokesman Ahmed Khairi said.

Khairi said about 750,000 tablets will be distributed at schools, noting that the internet service will also be extended to schools.

In a statement, the ministry said Minister Tareq Shawqy will hold a press conference on Sunday to explain everything in this regard.
