Sisi invites Macron to visit Egypt soon

CAIRO – 23 May 2017: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi congratulated his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron through a phone call on Monday, where he invited the new-elected president to visit Egypt soon.

The phone call addressed several issues such as fostering the Egyptian-French partnership in all fields and the cooperation between the two parties on the Libyan issue to reach rapprochement between the Libyan conflicting parties, in order to push forward the political process.

The two leaders agreed to keep cooperating in the investigations concerning the crashed EgyptAir jet coming from Paris last year.

Form his side, Macron affirmed his keenness to boost the bilateral relations, and welcomed Sisi’s invitation, expressing his appreciation of the call.
