The maritime drills carried out jointly with the UK Naval Forces included a training on the modern techniques to detect and handle sea mines in view of their serious impact on navigation at harbors and sea lanes of major strategic importance.

The Egyptian and French naval pieces also carried out exercises with live ammunition in the Mediterranean Sea implementing scenarios on countering terrorist threats on the high sea and inspections of suspected ships.
