EU greets Egypt on July 23 Revolution, praises €30m cooperation

CAIRO – 23 July 2018: Developmental cooperation between Egypt and the European Union (EU) has exceeded €30 million, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Egypt Ivan Surkos tweeted on the occasion of the July 23 Revolution anniversary.

On the occasion of the 66thanniversary of the July 23 Revolution, Surkos praised the strategic partnership between Egypt and the EU.

The EU is the biggest trade partner and investor in Egypt, he said, remarking with the words "Long Live the Partnership between Egypt and the European Union."




Many other leaders and officials greeted President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on the 66th anniversary of the July 23 Revolution.

On Monday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas greeted Sisi on the 66th anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.

Abbas expressed his appreciation of Egypt's support to the Palestinian people and their cause in order to end the Israeli occupation and establish their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Algerian President Abdel Aziz bou Teflika, Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman, and Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa sent a cable of greetings to Sisi on the 66th anniversary of the glorious revolution of July 23.
