Sisi reshuffles government's highest legislative body

CAIRO – 8 May 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi reshuffled, per a presidential decree, the highest legislative body that was tasked to review and prepare the government-drafted laws and Presidential decrees.

The presidential decree has terminated the membership of a number of lawyers, judges and academic professors of law from the Highest Legislative Committee.
The reasons of reshuffling were not announced yet.

The committee, which is chaired by the Prime Minister, includes Ministers of Justice and House of Representatives Affairs, the Head of the State Council, the Grand Mufti, and Al-Azhar Chairperson Deputy.
