Azhar denounces targeting innocent civilians in Eastern Ghouta

CAIRO - 8 April 2018: Al-Azhar on Sunday condemned the attack that targeted Douma in Syria's Eastern Ghouta on Saturday in which a number of innocent civilians were killed and injured.

In a press release on Sunday, Al-Azhar urged the international community to shoulder responsibility toward protecting civilians and guarantee humanitarian aid access to the Syrian citizens.

Al-Azhar also reiterated the importance of halting killing and destruction in Syria.

The statement also prayed to Allah the Almighty to save the souls of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
