CAIRO - 16 March 2018: Egypt will resume its flights to Russia on April 12, to end 3-year suspension between the two countries, according to statement of Civil Aviation ministry released on Friday.

Flights will operate three times a week on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, said Safwat Musallam, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir on Friday.

The statement didn't reveal whether the resumption will include the Russian flights to Sharm El Sheikh or not.

Flights between Egypt and Russia were scheduled to return in February 2018, but withheld for unknown reasons.

Moscow suspended operating flights to Egypt after the crash of a Russian plane in 2015; the accident was identified by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi as a terrorist act.
