PARIS - 11 March 2018: Egyptian Ambassador to France Ehab Badawi urged on Sunday the Egyptian community in Paris to exercise their constitutional right and cast their votes in their country's coming presidential polls.

Presidential elections for Egyptian expatriates will run for three days as of March 16.

Elections committees, to be held at the Egyptian embassies abroad, will open from 9:00 a.m. till 9 p.m.

Speaking to MENA, the ambassador underlined the importance of effective and positive participation in the coming elections, hoping Egyptian expats will play a role in drawing up the country's future.

He said all technical and logistic preparations for the polls were finalized at the Egyptian embassy in Paris and the consulate in Marseille.

The embassy and the consulate were supplied with necessary voting equipment, especially the INEC card reader, he added.

The INEC card reader is a portable Electronic voting authentication device designed specifically for the accreditation process and authentication of eligible voters before voting.

The ambassador said every citizen registered in voter database is eligible to cast his vote whether his/her national identity card is expired or valid.

Vote count will ensue the moment voting is finished on March 18.
