CAIRO - 26 February 2018: Nature protection sector of the Environment Ministry and environment police in Aswan seized 13 pieces of crocodile skins in addition to three pieces of skin that belong to wild animals on an old boat in Lake Nasser before being smuggled and sold.

This is the biggest illegal operation to crack down on crocodile skin trafficking in Aswan.

Hunting Nile crocodiles, the world’s second largest reptile, is illegal according to law NO. 4 of 1994.

In a statement on Monday, the ministry said that the seized pieces belong to 10 crocs.

All the necessary legal measures were taken to investigate the incident.
