Parliament speaker renews support for political leadership

CAIRO - 11 February 2018: Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal said on Sunday that the general committee of the parliament fully backs the political leadership in its strict stance to combat terrorism.

The panel also supports the Armed Forces, police and other state institutions in their comprehensive military operation (Sinai 2018), added Abdel Aal.

"The general committee, the parliament members, and all Egyptians are closely following up what the Armed Forces, police and all concerned agencies are doing in the Comprehensive Operation - Sinai 2018," he said.

The panel also realizes great economic achievements made by the state and the accomplishment of the democratic process in the country, said the speaker.

The state's success to restore the country's regional and international role is also hailed by the committee, he added.

The general committee is certainly aware of the malicious aims of terrorists who intensify their attacks, particularly before presidential elections.

"They seek to undermine the Egyptian people's confidence in the political leadership and all state bodies," said Abdel Aal.
