ALEXANDRIA - 19 January 2018: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese received Friday greeting delegations at the papal headquarters at Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria over Epiphany feast.

Alexandria Governor Mohamed Sultan, Alexandria security chief Moustafa el Nemr, as well as a number of executive, religious and security leaders and lawmakers were keen to greet Pope Tawadros on this occasion.

The pontiff thanked them for their warm greetings.

On Thursday, Pope Tawadros led the Epiphany Mass at Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral.

A raft of Coptic Orthodox priests, bishops and archbishops took part in the Mass.

Each year, the Coptic Orthodox Church celebrates on January 19 the Epiphany Feast to commemorate the baptism of Jesus on the Jordan River, by St. John the Baptist.
