Sisi, ministers discuss efforts to provide basic food

CAIRO – 27 December 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi reviewed the state’s main issues, including the government's efforts to provide basic food commodities for citizens, in a meeting on Wednesday with acting Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and a number of ministers, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

During the meeting, they discussed the efforts of the government to provide basic food commodities to citizens in different government markets at appropriate prices and quantities, as well as securing their strategic stock.

Sisi pointed out the importance of continuing the periodic monitoring of the availability of various basic food commodities at the sales outlets in different governorates, especially in the Upper Egypt governorates. Also, he followed the government’s efforts to deliver natural gas to homes in various governorates.

The ministers also reviewed the government’s efforts to end violations on the state's lands. Sisi stressed that any kind of violations against the citizens and the state will be dealt with in a decisive manner in accordance with the provisions of the law.

The meeting also tackled the measures taken by the government in preparation for the New Year and Christmas celebrations. The government asserted that they increased the security of vital installations and churches to ensure the safety of citizens.
