The tour aims at reaching women of all classes and empowering them to get their legal rights and state benefits –Wikimedia/Meri Organization

CAIRO – 24 December 2017: Women’s Center for Guidance and Legal awareness, an NGO, launched a legal assistance campaign by holding a tour in Dakahliya, Gharbia, and Kafr El-Sheikh governorates for three days from Saturday through Monday.

The tour aims at reaching women of all classes and empowering them to get their legal rights and state benefits.

The NGO, based in the capital of Dakahliya Governorate, Mansoura city, provides free legal assistance, raises women’s awareness of legal rights, duties, and measures, as well as organizes campaigns advocating the rights of marginalized segments in the legislative domain.

Since June, the center received 14 requests to file lawsuits varying from violence against women to gender discrimination in addition to offering 60 legal consultations, the center’s chairperson activist lawyer Reda El Danbouky said.

Legislative reforms

guaranteeing women’s rights have been made throughout the past decade.
