RAMALLAH - 13 December 2017: Adib El Hosseini, the key holder of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, has refused to receive US vice president Mike Pence during his anticipated visit to Jerusalem.

He said the decision is part of moral and religious commitment to protecting the holy sites in the city, urging the Greek Orthodox Patriarch not to receive the US veep.

US President Donald Trump announced days ago Jerusalem the capital of Israel and decided to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city.

Al Hosseini family has been holding the church keys for 850 years.
