CAIRO - 2 April 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will focus on economic ties and cooperation between Egypt and the United States during his visit in Washington, MENA quoted Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry as telling state TV Sunday.

Shoukry, who is part of the presidential delegation currently in D.C., added in phone statements that Egypt-U.S. relations are “deep” and have “many aspects.”

He also said President Sisi will meet a wide range of decision makers in the U.S. administration and research centers.

According to Shoukry, Sisi will give a speech at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Sunday.

On his agenda for Sunday, the President is also scheduled to meet with the chairman of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim, the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the U.S.-based conglomerate General Electric Jeff Immelt and Marillyn A. Hewson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation, Youm7 reported.

President Sisi arrived in Washington Saturday evening, where he was welcomed by a number of U.S. officials and Egyptian community representatives.

The trip is Sisi’s first state visit to Washington and he is scheduled to meet U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday; the two leaders are expected to hold a press conference at the White House.
