CAIRO – 12 December 2017: Egypt condemned the terrorist bomb attack which took place in the early of hours Monday morning, near a Manhattan bus terminal. The explosion injured five commuters including the perpetrator.

The statement, released by the Foreign Ministry on Monday, stressed Egypt’s solidarity with the government and the people of the United States and wished the injured a swift recovery.

"Such acts of terrorism inspired by the extremist ideology are flagrant violations of humanitarian laws and principles," the statement read. Also, the statement called on the international community to take unified actions in the face of the growing and dangerous threat of terrorism.

A 27 year old man, affiliated to the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS), attempted to kill commuters on Monday morning by setting off a bomb at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. The suspect was immediately taken into custody.
