CAIRO – 5 March 2017: CEO of EMAK Marsa Alam, Hany Aqab said Sunday that the International Air Transport Association (IATA) had announced Marsa Alam International Airport as a member in the Slot Management system.

Aqab added in his statement that this would regulate flight schedules at the airport in a way that fits the capacity of the airport’s terminals, while improving services provided to passengers and airlines, which will likely increase the airport’s revenues while maintaining necessary security measures.

He also announced the formation of a trained crew under the supervision of Capt. Mohamed Saleh, head of operations, and Capt. Mohamed Samir, manager of the flight schedules program, to conduct special studies regarding the capacity of the airport and improve the services provided.

Choosing the Marsa Alam International Airport for this membership in IATA makes it one of the first Egyptian airports to ever get a permanent membership in the association.
