CAIRO – 21 November 2017: The fifth trilateral Summit between Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt has been launched on Tuesday with the participation of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

Anastasiades will receive Sisi on Tuesday at the Presidential Palace in Cyprus ahead of Sisi’s talks with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

President Sisi is scheduled to participate in the fifth trilateral Summit between Cyprus, Greece, and Egypt as a part of tripartite cooperation mechanism that was launched in November 2014. Anastasiades, Sisi and Tsipras will deliver speeches during the summit.

The fifth summit aims to discuss ways to support and deepen the exceptional relations among the three states, activate existing cooperation, promote political dialogue on how to combat challenges in the Middle East and the Mediterranean regions.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived in Nicosia, Cyprus’s capital, Monday for his first official visit to the country.

Anastasiades honored his Egyptian counterpart by granting him the Order of Makarios III, which is the highest order of merit awarded by Cyprus.
