CAIRO - 13 November 2017: Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit and Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah had a meeting on the latest regional developments.

In statements on Monday, AL Chief Spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said the meeting stressed the necessity of maintaining security and stability in the Arab region in light of current challenges and threats in several Arab states, topped by the armed conflicts in Syria, Libya and Yemen.

During the meeting, the Kuwaiti emir stressed the crucial role played by the Arab League during the current critical stage, pledging his support for Abul Gheit's efforts to settle Arab issues.

For his part, Abul Gheit lauded the role played by the Kuwaiti emir and his country in backing the joint Arab action at the political, economic, social and humanitarian levels, citing Kuwait's host of the an international conference on Palestinian children and their suffering from Israeli violations.

They also discussed topics to be figured high at an Arab ministerial meeting, set for Sunday.

The meeting, to be held upon Saudi Arabia's request, is scheduled to exchange views on the latest developments to the Palestinian cause and efforts exerted to resume the Palestinian reconciliation process.
