Dar Al-Ifta organizes conference for fatwa authorities worldwide

CAIRO – 16 October 2017: The Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid hailed the initiative of the Egyptian Islamic institution, Dar Al-Ifta Al-Missriyyah, in organizing an international conference for the general secretariats of fatwa authorities worldwide.

The conference will be held from October 17 to 19, 2017 in Cairo, and will be titled "Fatwa Role in Maintaining Societies' Stability."

The move came as part of the continuous coordination between the Foreign Ministry and Dar Al-Ifta; seeking to highlight Egypt’s efforts in denouncing extremist discourses.

Abu Zeid also stressed the Foreign Ministry's keenness on offering support for the conference, as it reflects the leading role of Egypt's religious institutions in fighting religious extremism and erroneous Fatwas.
