Military foils terrorist attack in Northern Sinai

CAIRO – 14 October 2017: A number of terrorists were killed in a foiled terrorist attack in North Sinai Saturday morning, according to army spokesperson Tamer El-Refai.

Refai stated that the terrorists were killed during their attempt to enter one of the army’s checkpoints wearing an explosive belt with grenades and firearms.

Earlier on October 13, six armed forces personnel were killed when a number of terrorists targeted a security checkpoint in Arish using grenades and fire arms

The military forces clashed and exchanged fire with the terrorists, leaving a number of them dead or wounded.

Law enforcement forces of the second field army continue their efforts to eliminate Takfiri elements and defeat terrorism in North Sinai.
