DAMASCUS, 5 October 2017 - Syria’s Tahrir al Sham militant group (al Nusra Front) denied that its leader Abu Muhammad Jawlani had been critically wounded in a Russian air strike.

In a statement, Al Nusra Front affirmed that its leader is in a good condition and is carrying out his assigned duties as usual, the US-funded TV channel Al-Hurra reported on Thursday.

The statement denied news circulated in media by Russian defense ministry about the killing of 12 Nusra Front leaders and 50 of its elements in an airstrike launched to target a meeting held by the Al Nusra Front in Syria on Tuesday.

Earlier, Russian military reports said Russian air forces in Syria conducted a precision air strike, leaving Jolani in a critical condition after losing his arm during the raid.

According to these reports, Al Nusra leader is in critical condition.
