BEIRUT - 29 September 2017: Sheikh Ahmad Al Assir was sentenced to death Thursday by Beirut’s Military Tribunal over leading the 2013 Abra clashes against the Lebanese Army, which left 18 members of the Armed Forces dead and 100 others wounded, Lebanese Daily Star reported.

The court also issued eight death sentences against other defendants, as it sentenced former Lebanese Singer Fadl Shaker to 15 years of hard labor and striped him of his civil rights, as well as a fine of LBP800,000.
