SEOUL_30 August 2017: South Korea welcomed the unanimously UN Security Council's "swift" action against North Korea, condemning its missile provocation.

S.Korea underlined that it reaffirms the international community's strong will not to tolerate Pyongyang's pursuit of missile and nuclear weapons programs, reported Yonhap news agency.

A source in S.Korean Foreign ministry said that the North has to accept the international community recommendations for nuclear disarmament as soon.

"The government will faithfully carry out sanctions against the North in tandem with the international community while at the same time focusing efforts on inducing a fundamental denuclearization of the North and establishing a permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula," the foreign ministry in Seoul said.

The UNSC's action came after it adopted a fresh sanctions resolution against North Korea earlier this month to punish Pyongyang for carrying out what it claimed to be two intercontinental ballistic missiles in July.
