Egypt following up on missing expatriate in Italy

CAIRO – 10 August 2017: Egyptian Foreign Ministry is in continuous contact with the Consulate General of Egypt in Milan, Italy, to follow up, round the clock updates on a missing Egyptian expatriate named Abdo Abdo Ibrahim Akl, known as Magdi Akl, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu-Zeid said on Thursday.

Consul General of Egypt in Milan Ahmed Shaheen informed Akl’s nephew and friend with the Consulate’s efforts to find Akl. He immediately contacted the Italian authorities and deputy sheriff of the General Security in Milan who pledged that he will spare nothing to find the missing Egyptian citizen, Abu-Zeid added.

The Consulates is continuously contacting different hospitals to get any update.
Abu Zeid noted that Akl arrived in Italy in 1992 and was working for Carparelli company for shipping from 1994 to August 1, 2017, the day in he disappeared. Akl and the Carparelli’s owner’s son had quarreled several times, according to the available data related to the missing Akl.
