CAIRO - 8 August 2017: A police officer was killed, four others were injured and three terrorists were killed in Qena governorate while hunting down militants involved in a number of terrorist attacks in Egypt, including the Tanta and Alexandria church bombings.

The martyred police officer, Major Ahmed Abdel Fattah, commander of the support troops in Qena’s security forces, was killed during an exchange of gunfire with the terrorists on Karnak Road in the center of Abu Tisht, north of the Qena governorate.

Security forces in Qena were able to kill three terrorists while targeting a mountainous area that was being used as a training camp for terrorist operations aimed against the army and police forces. Firearms and survival kits were seized as well during the operation.
