Al Azhar to hold int'l conference on al Quds in September

CAIRO - 26 July 2017: Al Azhar on Tuesday announced that it will hold an international conference about al Quds in September to discuss key decisions on the Palestinian cause.

The announcement was made during Tuesday's meeting of Muslim Council of Elders under Al Azhar Grand Imam Shiekh Ahmed el Tayyeb.

Participants of the meeting issued a statement exposing Israel's aggressive measures in al Quds.

The statement highlighted the high place Islam attaches to the holy site.

The statement further called on the UNESCO, Islamic and international organizations as well as human rights organizations to fulfill their duty in liberating the worship and sacred places.
