Since the Arab countries severed ties with Qatar, prices have unprecedentedly been increased up to ten times, prominent Qatari opposition figure Khaled El-Heel claimed on Thursday.
“Qatari people are suffering amid the mounting prices due to Tamim’s actions,” Heel added.
Qatar has been immersed in an economic slump since June 5, 2017 after Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, along with Egypt and Bahrain, decided to sever diplomatic and trade relations with Doha, closing their mutual land borders and air spaces.
The neighboring Arab states’ decision came after accusations of Qatar’s support for terrorism surfaced.
