Cabinet to stop power cuts at churches during Easter celebrations

CAIRO - 20 April 2024: Egypt's plan to reduce electrical loads will not be implemented at churches during the days where Coptics are celebrating Easter, the Holy Week. 
 
During the plan, electricity is cut for two hours every day. 
 
The decision to stop implementing the plan was made after coordination was conducted between 
Counselor Mohamed Al-Hasmani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Cabinet, stated that coordination had been made between Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and both Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. 
 
The decision aims to make it easier for them to celebrate these occasions. 
 
In this regard, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, congratulated the Coptic brothers inside and outside Egypt on the occasion of celebrating these holidays.
