CAIRO – March 18, 2024: Intermittent rains descended upon several distinct areas in Greater Cairo on Monday.

Furthermore, low, medium, and cumulus clouds gathered over various regions extending from the northern coastal cities to Greater Cairo, while certain areas of northern Upper Egypt experienced thundery rainfall of differing intensities.

In the meantime, Alexandria Governorate experienced heavy rainfall across several areas, accompanied by a decrease in temperature and brisk winds. This occurrence coincided with what is referred to as "The Sun’s Great Gale," which has affected Egypt’s Mediterranean cities since Saturday and is expected to persist until the upcoming weekend.

The General Authority of Meteorology (EMA) announced that Egypt will experience unsettled weather from Saturday, March 17, 2024, to Friday, March 22, 2024, with varying intensity of rainfall expected in different areas, accompanied by windy conditions in some regions.

Warm weather is anticipated in the northern governorates up to Greater Cairo. However, southern Sinai is expected to be hot, while the southern governorates will experience cold temperatures at night and in the early morning in most areas.

The EMA expected that Tuesday, March 19, 2024, will witness cold weather during the day in Greater Cairo, Egypt’s Delta, and the northern coasts. Meanwhile, it will turn warmer in the South Sinai and Upper Egypt.
