CAIRO – 1 March 2024: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry that there are 2.4 million Palestinians in need of more aid as the Palestinians in Gaza are living in difficult conditions, adding “but we cannot change the situation due to the many obstacles and we are working to take an international decision on the matter.”

He added during a meeting for Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Palestine and Turkey on the sidelines of the Antalya Forum, that the countries that support peace are many, led by Egypt and Turkey.

The Minister clarified that the humanitarian aid trucks reached 200 per day, and this is a small number, stressing the necessity of a permanent ceasefire to resolve the crisis in Gaza.

“Israel is waging an unprecedented war, with shortcomings and negligence regarding Palestine,” he said, noting that 20,000 children lost their lives, 17,000 children lost their parents, and the number of the injured is in thousands.

“These attacks must stop, and this is important to us and necessary. We work with our partners and the United Nations to support the Palestinians in Gaza. The United Nations must bear its responsibility towards the crisis in Gaza,” he said.
