CAIRO – 16 February 2024: Bulgaria President Rumen Radev praised the important and pivotal role played by Egypt in achieving a calming of the situation in the Middle East.

 

Radev’s comments were expressed during a meeting, in which Ambassador Nader Saad, the new Egyptian Ambassador to Sofia, presented his credentials.

 

The Bulgarian President expressed his great interest in cooperation relations with Egypt, stressing that Egypt is Bulgaria’s pivotal partner in the Middle East and Africa region.

 

Radev also praised the friendly relations with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and asked to convey his greetings to President El-Sisi.

 

Egyptian ambassador conveyed to the Bulgarian President the greetings of President Sisi.

 

He said that bilateral relations are witnessing a state of growing momentum since the important visit made by President Radev to Egypt in 2019.

 

Ambassador Nader Saad briefed President Rumen Radev on the positive results of the meetings of the Joint Cooperation Committee between Egypt and Bulgaria with the participation of 6 ministers from the Bulgarian government.

 

Saad affirmed that the coming period will witness a follow-up on the implementation of the cooperation topics agreed upon between the two sides, especially in the fields of gas, Information technology, transportation, trade, and tourism.
