Egypt, Palestinian Red Crescent establish camp for displaced in Gaza's Khan Younis

CAIRO – 28 January 2024: Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine al-Qabbaj stated Saturday that Egypt and the Palestinian Red Crescent had joined forces to establish and equip a camp for the displaced in Khan Younis at Gaza Strip.  

 

The minister highlighted that 53,000 pregnant Palestinian women in Gaza Strip lack basic healthcare services, and that 130 children had been orphaned.

 

The minister's statements came during a meeting with UK Foreign Secretary's Special Representative for Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territories Mark Bryson-Richardson who was paying Egypt a visit.

 

Minister Qabaj highlighted that Egypt had established six logistic zones and nine warehouses to handle international aid that arrive in Arish International Airport and is delivered by the Egyptian Red Crescent to Gaza Strip.
