CAIRO – 17 January 2024:  Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi received a phone call from Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte on Wednesday to discuss developments in the region.

President Sisi reviewed the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, pointing out Egypt’s unrelenting efforts to enforce the delivery of humanitarian aid into the sector, emanating from Egypt’s keenness on the region’s stability and its responsibility toward the Palestinian brothers.

President Sisi warned that prolonging the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip could lead to an expansion of the conflict, thus jeopardizing regional and international security.

The President emphasized the critical need for the international community to urgently push toward a ceasefire and the protection of civilians.

The Dutch Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Egypt’s role in efforts to restore calm, protect civilians and evacuate foreign nationals and the injured from the sector.
