CAIRO – 11 January 2024: Egypt established six logistic zones and nine warehouses to handle international aid that arrive in Arish International Airport and is delivered by the Egyptian Red Crescent to Gaza Strip, Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine al-Qabba stated Thursday during the " International Call for Humanitarian Support to Gaza" conference.

 

The event was attended by senior officials at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as well as representatives of UN organizations, NGOs, and humanitarian work partners.

 

The minister displayed figures on the crisis in Gaza highlighting that over 97 years, the Israeli occupation committed 1,944 massacres that claimed around 23,210 lives, including 10,000 children, 7,000 women, 326 medics, 45 civil defense workers, and 112 journalists.

 

That is in addition to 7,000 who are still under the rubble. Seventy percent of whom are women and children. As for the injuries, they stand at 59,167, including 6,000 who need to be treated abroad. Of those, just 650 travelled.

 

What's more horrendous, there are 10,000 cancer patients who are at the risk of death, two million were internally displaced, 400,000 got infected with contagious diseases due to displacement, and 99 medics and 10 journalists have been arrested.

 

Complete destruction extended to 134 governmental buildings, 95 schools and universities, 142 mosques, three churches, 69,000 residential units, 30 hospitals, 53 healthcare centers, 121 ambulances, and 200 archeological sites. Partial destruction hit 295 schools and universities, 240 mosques, and 290,000 residential units as 65,000 tons of explosives were dropped on Gaza.
