Greater Cairo sees intensive rainfall as unstable weather expected

CAIRO - 28 December 2023: Several areas in Greater Cairo are witnessing rainfall of varying intensity in several different areas, coinciding with the volatile weather that the country is expected to witness throughout the day.
 
The General Authority of Meteorology revealed that the latest satellite images indicate continued chances of rain falling in Greater Cairo and areas of Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, Sinai and northern Upper Egypt during the day, and the intensity of rain increases in the east of the country. 
 
Thursday will witness moderate rain, sometimes heavy and thundery, in areas of (Damietta - Port Said - Beheira - Kafr El-Sheikh - Dakahlia - Sharqia - Ismailia - Suez - North Sinai).
 
Moderate rains and sometimes thunderstorms are also expected in areas of Matrouh - Alexandria - Western Menoufia - Fayoum, Cairo - Giza, which may sometimes rain in areas of New Cairo, and light to moderate rains in areas of South Sinai with an incidence rate of (approximately 40%, extending light to areas. From (Zaafarana - Ras Gharib - Hurghada - El Quseir - Beni Suef - Minya) (approximately 30%).
 
Wind activity is expected at times in areas of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, South Sinai, and the south of the country at intermittent intervals.
 
As for expected temperatures on Thursday:
 
Great Cairo will see highs of 20 degrees and lows of 13
 
Alexandria will see highs of 20 degrees and lows of 15
 
Matrouh will see highs of 21 degrees and lows of 14
 
Great Sohag will see highs of 21 degrees and lows of 11
 
Great Qena will see highs of 24 degrees and lows of 12
 
Aswan Great will see highs of 23 degrees and low is 13.
