CAIRO – 22 December 2023: North Sinai's El-Arish International Airport has received 331 planes carrying thousands of tons of relief aid, ambulances, field hospitals, and necessary equipment bound for Gaza since the start of the Israeli war on the strip.

The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) said it has moved the shipments to Gaza from Arish city through the Rafah border crossing.

Over the past hours, the airport received four planes coming from Kenya, Belgium, Russia, and Jordan.

The plane from Belgium carried 52.4 tons of blankets and medications, while the plane from Kenya carried 38.1 tons of relief aid.

Moreover, the plane coming from Russia carried 18.2 tons of medical supplies and the other Jordanian plane carried 13.2 tons of food and relief materials.

Countries that have sent aid to the airport for Gaza are Kuwait, Turkey, Qatar, UAE, Russia, Algeria, Jordan, Iraq, Indonesia, France, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bahrain, England, Brazil, Tunisia, Venezuela, India, Kenya, Colombia, Malaysia, Greece, Libya, Turkmenistan, Poland, Denmark, Oman, Chechnya, Belgium, Kenya, and Germany.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, Egypt has dispatched hundreds of humanitarian aid trucks to Gaza. Egypt’s local organizations have accounted for most of the aid, while the country has continued to receive aid planes from numerous countries around the clock.
