CAIRO – 22 November 2023: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US President Joe Biden reiterated on Wednesday the importance of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the US and keenness to develop them in all domains.

They underlined the need to continue working for finding a political solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution.

Biden thanked Sisi for his role in the joint mediation efforts that led to reaching a humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip.

Biden, in a phone call with Sisi, lauded the Egyptian efforts to enhance international security and stability, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi said.

He reiterated the US's categorical rejection of displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt.

Sisi said the Egyptian efforts come as part of the country's keenness on stemming bloodshed and achieving stability in the region, underlining the need to build on the current humanitarian pause to reach a lasting ceasefire and let in needed quantities of aid into the enclave.

The two leaders agreed to maintain coordination to optimize the current pause in a way that boosts security and stability
