CAIRO – 25 October 2023: Many planes have arrived at El-Arish International Airport carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza as the Israeli strikes against the strip have continued for the 19th day.

The planes, arriving from several countries such as the UAE, Kuwait and Turkey, includes dozens of tons of aid, especially food, power generators, medical equipment, medicines and hospital beds.

This comes as the Rafah border crossing linking Gaza and North Sinai has seen intensive preparations today in preparation for the entry of the fifth aid convoy to the strip, according to AlQahera News.

Tens of aid trucks are waiting in front of the crossing.

The Israeli strikes have killed more than 6,500 Palestinians, injured more than 18,000 and displaced around 1.5 million Palestinians out of the 2.3 million population in Gaza.

Also, the attacks have caused many hospitals to become out of service either for the lack of fuel or because they were damaged by the strikes.

Besides aid coming from abroad and from global organizations, Egypt’s NGOs, especially those under the National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW), have prepared thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Gazan people since the crisis started.

So far, more than 70 humanitarian aid trucks have entered Gaza, while the UN warns that the strip currently needs at least 100 trucks of aid per day.
