CAIRO – 18 October 2023: The National Dialogue has called on all Egyptians to gather in large numbers after the Friday prayers on 20 October 20th in front of the Unknown Soldier Memorial in Cairo’s Nasr City.

In a statement on Wednesday, the dialogue’s board of trustees emphasized that the gathering of all segments of the Egyptian people on that day and at this location conveys an important message on the 50th anniversary of the 6th of October 1973 victory.

The board said the move comes in light of the dangerous developments regarding the Palestinian cause to express decisive rejection of the brutal aggression by the occupation against the resilient Palestinian brothers in Gaza and the West Bank.

The gathering is also an affirmation of the Egyptian people’s unity in the face of threats of liquidating the Palestinian cause and compromising Egypt's national security and territorial integrity.

Israel, who has launched unrelenting airstrikes against the Gaza Strip, caused a new tragedy on Tuesday after killing hundreds in a massive blast at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital that was sheltering thousands of people when it was bombed.

The Israeli crime has triggered outrage across the world. Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced today a three-day period of national mourning to honor the innocent victims of the heinous attack on the hospital.

On Wednesday, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed Egypt's unwavering support to the Palestinian people and rejection of Israeli plans to displace Gazans to Sinai.

El-Sisi said millions of Egyptian people are ready to protest any plans to displace the Palestinian people from Gaza.

Hundreds of citizens held protests in Egypt today to show solidarity with Palestine's Gaza residents against the Israeli aggression.
