CAIRO - 14 October 2023: Palestinian filmmaker and producer May Odeh has launched a cry to the world as she commented on what is happening Gaza, saying "Words are unable to describe the disappointment from the global stance towards what is happening to Gaza and its people."

May Odeh, a Palestinian director from the west bank, added in statements to Youm7: “The global propaganda is wrong and unjust,” noting that she follows what is happening in Gaza morning and night on screens and through social media, in a bid to check on people in Gaza, saying: “We are afraid to close our eyes because of the horror of what is happening.”
 
May Odeh pointed out that on Thursday "entire families were eliminated from life, which makes us feel even more helpless and ashamed in the face of what the people of Gaza feel."
 
She further said that “People in Gaza are unable to continue with their lives... their lives are at a standstill... there are no homes... no water, electricity, fuel or medicines.”
 
Odeh said that the great helplessness that she feels is not enough to describe sadness or shock, noting that she is "astonished at the world’s stance, and how it stands watching all this injustice in silence."
 
“If the world wants peace, it must stop Israel, as it is a war criminal, and people’s rights, lands, and homes must be restored. These people who have been displaced for the millionth time, their blood must not be wasted. Israel is unjust and yet it receives all the support,” Odeh continued. 
 
Odeh appealed to the Arab world to exert more pressure, to help Palestine and to stop the occupation and the cycle of violence.
 
May Odeh continued, “Every time the cycle of violence hurts more, and we are certain that what is coming is greater and more difficult, unfortunately.”

May Odeh is born in Birzeit-Palestine. She is a director and producer, known for “Gaza by Her” (2017), “The crossing” (2017), “Drawing for Better dreams” (2015), “Diaries” (2011) among others.  

She is the founder of ODEH FILMS; a production company aiming to produce and distribute creative documentary and fiction films.  

Odeh’s curates and organizes various film programs including Palestine Film Platform and Mobile Cinema - which is aiming to tour around villages and communities in area C to screen entertainment films for families and kids.
