CAIRO – 8 October 2023: An Egyptian security source negated in statements to Extra News Sunday that six Israeli tourists had been killed in Sinai. The rumors have spread after the killing of two Israeli tourists by a policeman in Alexandria.

An Egyptian policeman who is part of the force securing Alexandria’s Pompey’s Pillar fired Sunday at a tourist group killing two Israelis and one Egyptian.

The suspect got arrested and is being interrogated, as reported by Extra News. General Manager of the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies Khaled Okasha told the channel that investigations would unveil his drive, and that maybe he had misjudged a certain situation, which prompted him to commit the act.

The incident comes one day after the eruption of armed conflict between Palestine's Hamas and Israel, incurring scores of deaths and injuries among both sides. Until present, a ceasefire has not been reached.
