CAIRO - 5 October 2023: Cairo Governorate will open its parks for free on Friday in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the October victories, in accordance with the decision of Major General Khaled Abdel-Al, Cairo Governor.

In a related context, Hassan Shehata, Minister of Labor, announced that Thursday, October 5, 2023, is a paid holiday for workers in the private sector on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the victories of the glorious October War.

This comes in light of the issuance of Prime Minister’s Decision No. 3675 of 2023, which includes that Thursday be an official paid leave for workers in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, the public business sector, and the private sector, instead of Friday, October 6, 2023, in the context of ensuring unification of official holiday dates for all workers in the various state sectors whenever possible.

The employer may employ the worker on this day if the working conditions require it, and in this case the worker is entitled to double his daily wage in addition to his wage for this day.
