CAIRO – 1 October 2023: Forty-two political parties announced their rejection to the return of the banned terrorist group of the Muslim Brotherhood to the political and party scene.

In a statement, the Egyptian Parties Alliance, which includes 42 political parties, announced their refusal to any invitation or attempt to return the banned group to political and party scene in Egypt.

“Attempts by some people to make the terrorist Brotherhood return to the political and partisan scene are [...] crimes against Egyptians, who revolted against the group on June 30,” said journalist writer Mahmoud Nafadi, the media spokesman for the alliance.

The alliance members said that any attempt of returning of the banned group will be strongly prevented by the Egyptian people, who experienced the pain and suffering from the terrorist group.

“The page was turned forever, and no way to open it back,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Reform and Renaissance Party called on every Egyptian to “remember the state of the country” prior to the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood regime and to prevent the return of the Islamist group.

The party said in a Sunday statement that after a wave of terrorism in the aftermath of the ouster, many lives and resources were lost, but today “we stand is solid and stable ground to discuss our development rates and our future plans to increase them.”

The statement comes after the another conference of the series “the Story of Home,” which was attended by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The party also called on Egyptians to take pride in the developments of the country in all fields, calling them “a miracle.”

It reiterated the words of Sisi’s speech that nations “can only be built in a climate of stability.” It also added that the absence of the Muslim Brotherhood from the political scene is a major pillar of stability.

The call for the return of the Brotherhood is a “betrayal” for the Egyptian nation, the party said.
