Egypt wins Platinium Award in Digital Health Leadership in Arab World

CAIRO - 26 September 2023: Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, announced that Egypt won the Platinum Award in “Digital Health Leadership” at the level of the Arab world. 
 
Al-Sobky, who is also the General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Haya Karima projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, said that this come within the framework of... the golden initiative launched by the Arab Hospitals Federation with the aim of promoting digital transformation in healthcare in the Arab world.
 
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky pointed out that Egypt’s winning of this award for the first time is a translation of the pursuit of the political leadership and government towards digital transformation and a testimony of success for all active partners in automating the comprehensive health insurance system, stressing that digital transformation is the cornerstone of any society seeking to advance and develop its health services.
 
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky pointed out the success of Egypt, is represented by the Health Care Authority, in:
 
- Completing more than 4 million electronic health files for citizens in the governorates
 
- Implementing the comprehensive health insurance system.
 
- Implementing the electronic referral system from primary health care units and centers to higher levels of service.
 
- Implementing the ICD11 international health codes system as the first country in the Northern and Eastern Mediterranean region.
