CAIRO - 16 September 2023: Spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, said that Egypt will soon receive a certificate from the World Health Organization for being free of Hepatitis C.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, added that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s 100 Million Health Initiative contributed to eliminating the Hepatitis C virus thanks to its provision of medical and laboratory tests, and safe and effective treatment for patients.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar explained that the initiative examined more than 100 million citizens through various services, and continued: Mobile clinic cars are still roaming the governorates to provide examinations to treat patients and dispense medicine to them on a regular basis.
He continued: The health units in the various governorates are still performing their role in providing presidential initiative services in the various governorates.
