Egypt’s FM Shoukry receives phone call from Blinken

CAIRO – 14 September 2023: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received on Thursday a phone call from his US counterpart Antony Blinken, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The call touched on the distinguished relation between the two countries at the bilateral, regional and international levels.

They also discussed a number of regional issues including Sudanese crisis and situation in Libya as Shoukry reviewed Egypt’s political and humanitarian efforts in Libya as well as Sudan’s neighboring countries through setting mechanisms of a work plan to deal with the Sudanese crisis.

He added that Egypt will call for a meeting for foreign ministers of Sudan’s neighboring countries on the sidelines of the next UNGA meeting in New York to discuss the current situation in Sudan.
