Egyptian FM meets Iraqi, Jordanian counterparts in Cairo

CAIRO – 15 August 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs met Tuesday with his Jordanian and Iraqi counterparts Ayman al-Safadi and Fouad Hussein at the ministry's headquarters in Cairo within the trilateral cooperation mechanism.

The convention is taking place on the sidelines of the meeting of the Arab Ministerial Contact Committee on Syria comprising Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the Arab League.

The mechanism's purpose is bolstering economic cooperation, and holding consultations on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

In that framework, the three ministers agreed on holding a follow-up meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) taking place in New York next September in order to further confer over potential joint projects and determine the support and facilitation needed to make them a reality.
