CAIRO – 10 August 2023: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received a phone call from his Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi, discussing aspects of bilateral relations between Egypt and Indonesia and ways to enhance them during the next stage, said official spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Abu Zeid in a statement.

 

 

A number of regional and international issues of common interest were also discussed in light of the historical friendship between the two countries, Abu Zeid added.

 

 

The two foreign ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in the region's issues, foremost of which are the developments of the Palestinian issue, the Libyan issue, and the Sudanese crisis, Abu Zeid continued.

 

 

The Indonesian minister was keen to listen to the Egyptian vision regarding ways to reach just and comprehensive settlements to the issues and crises of the region, he said.

 

 

For her part, the Indonesian minister affirmed that her country is counting on the important role played by Egypt as a major element of stability in the region.

 

 

She expressed her hope for continued coordination and consultation between the two sides on regional and international issues of common concern.
