CAIRO – 4 August 2023: On Saturday and Sunday, areas in northern Egypt are expected to experience a slight rise in temperatures, while there is a chance for light rain in southern Egypt.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects the slight rise in temperatures to be temporary over the next two days as it will extend from northern Egypt until Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

Hence, if you are planning to spend a short holiday this weekend in the northern coast, you should grab an umbrella and stay well-hydrated.

Meanwhile, the showers in southern Egypt may include Halayeb, Shalateen, Aswan, Abu Simbel and New Valley, the EMA says, expecting a 30 percent rain chance.

The EMA also expects an increase in humidity nationwide that can make weather feel hotter.

Average apparent temperatures based on the EMA expectations over the next week

- Cairo and Lower Egypt – Highs: 38

- Northern coasts – Highs: 36

- South Sinai – Highs: 43

- Northern Upper Egypt – Highs: 42

- Southern Upper Egypt – Highs: 45
